Kira Yarmysh believes that the oppositionist could have been given poisoned tea at the airport
Russian opposition leader and founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, Alexei Navalny, is in intensive care at a hospital in Omsk after toxic poisoning. This was announced on Twitter by the press secretary of Navalny Kira Yarmysh.
«This morning Navalny was returning to Moscow from Tomsk. During the flight, he felt bad. The plane urgently landed in Omsk. Alexei has toxic poisoning. Now we are going to the hospital in an ambulance. We assume that Alexei was poisoned with something mixed into the tea. It was the only thing that he drank in the morning. Doctors say the toxin was absorbed faster through the hot liquid. Alexey is now unconscious» – by Kira Yarmysh on the morning of August 20.
Answering the question of the Russian service «Voices of America», Yarmysh explained that, in her opinion, the poisonous substance could have been given to Alexei Navalny at the airport of Tomsk.
Later, a spokesman for Navalny said on Twitter that the politician was connected to a ventilator, and the police were called to the hospital at the request of his staff..
Alexei Navalny was returning to Moscow after a trip to Siberia, where, according to his supporters on social networks, he collected material to investigate the activities of deputies from «United Russia».
In 2017, Navalny, a harsh critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian power circles, organized a public campaign to be registered as a candidate for Russian presidency in the 2018 elections. He was not admitted to the elections.
