Media: Manafort transferred to home mode of serving his sentence

71-year-old former Trump campaign head released from prison in connection with coronavirus

Former Donald Trump chief of staff Paul Manafort was transferred from prison to house arrest over fears of contracting coronavirus, US media reported on Wednesday.

Manafort, 71, was reportedly released from Loretto Federal Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania early Wednesday morning..

In 2019, Manafort was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison on tax fraud and bank fraud charges stemming from an investigation into Russian election interference. He should be released from prison in November 2024. Reportedly, he will now serve the rest of his sentence at home..

Manafort’s lawyers have not yet responded to requests for comment. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has not yet confirmed information about the transfer of Manafort from Loretto.
